Beauty Detox: Heart-Healthy Sandwich

Ever wonder how healthy your daily lunch is? Eating out can mean a variety of fatty foods. Burgers and burritos may be yummy, but they're not doing your body any favors. Packing your own lunch may seem time consuming, but it will ensure you don't over indulge on unnecessary calories. So, which culinary staple do we turn to? The sandwich of course! It tastes delicious and it’s quick to prepare—even in the work kitchen! Celebrity nutritionist Kimberly Snyder's open faced beauty sandwich is full of ingredients that will make your skin glow and put you on the track to a healthier lifestyle. "Avocado’s easily digestible monounsaturated fats nourish the skin from within, keeping it supple and youthful," explains Kim. "The tomato adds lycopene (which helps prevent heart disease and cancer, and improves your eyesight) and sprouts give the sandwich a boost of enzymes and amino acids." It's also important to be choosy about your bread. "Gluten-free bread is always a better option—many of us have digestive issues from gluten sensitivities that we don’t even know about!" says Kim.
