The latest in limited edition MAC makeup was gone before we knew it.
What was it, you ask? Well, don’t you know? It was the new Yung Rapunxel
lipstick created by outspoken rapper and runway maven Azealia Banks!
This creamy blackened eggplant lippy goes on smooth delivering on trend
results perfect for fall. It premiered during this year's Fashion's
Night Out, and was out in a flash as of last week.
There are several reasons why I picked up my own tube of Yung Rapunxel.
First, Azealia Banks is a Harlem girl just like me! Okay, so I only just moved here last year. I’m still gonna rep my hood with my hot new Harlem shade!
The alter ego “Yung Rapunxel” found miss Banks after she invested in her very first fairy-tale length weave. Well, what a coincidence! I too just dropped a pretty penny on a set of brand spankin’ new long golden wefts. The iPhone bill can wait. I’m clearly too busy letting down my long hair and awaiting my prince...
But in reality I bought Yung Rapunxel because the aubergine shade couldn’t be more perfect for autumn. The runways had me craving ultra-dark lips this season and the shade delivers, giving me stained, yet skin tone flattering results in a reliable creamy formula that I know I can count on from MAC. The color looks gothly glam against my pale skin but the formula is surprisingly sheer, making it less of a statement than I was expecting. Alternately, on dark skin Yung Rapunxel’s berry undertones are revealed, making it appear nearly natural—a perfect shade to transition from day to night in.
I hope you all got the chance to try Yung Rapunxel before the limited edition tubes completely disappear. And if you missed them, hey—there's always a way. Now if you need me, you can find me in Harlem brushing out my weave and touching up my new lipstick.
